ultimate goal is to make the communication process easy and understandable.
Whether you are working with interpreter or by yourself do not use excessive
unusual terms. That will confuse both the client and the translator as well
us yourself. One more advice from our experience is, be friendly. Do not
assume that your client is deaf and not to try to comment something in
English. It could be because you thought they will not understand it. The
truth is, it is very easy to understand bad words than good words. Also
your facial expression is an international language. Be patient and hide
your anger or feelings inside (if there is any). If you could not
communicate well with your client, remember using simple word and gestures
are very important. Remember your clients are not speaking English well but
they are not dump. And show the same respect you are showing for your
English speaking clients and avoid stereotyping. If you want to make your
communication process much easier and comfortable for your client's, try to
learn something about your client's culture, language and custom ahead of
time. That will show you are ready to help them and you are interested to
threat them. This is a feedback for those of you it will be your first time
meeting some one from that particular country. Also try to allocate extra
time for your client. Never assume your regular session will be enough to
cover your time with your client. Do not forget the interpretation process
will take you more time than usual because things are different.
